So anyway, I'm in dire need of a new digital camera. We kind of thought that we would be able to make it without getting a new camera for awhile because in all honesty, we didn't really know how long out camera was broken. But this morning I realized the importance of having a camera available at all times. Skye was eating breakfast, as usual, and she was making an absolute mess! But what was so funny was that she was covered in splatters of milk. (This week we decided to start giving her milk with breakfast, and she's not taking to it very well.) Anyway, she was swinging her sippy cup around and looking up at us with her huge grin. It was adorable. I yelled to Michael to run out with his camera phone. He tried taking a few shots, but with the red eye she looked possessed. Needless to say, I was a little disappointed.
So I need a new digital camera. My mom offered to let me use her film camera until I get a new digital, but... eew! I'm a total technology snob. Example, there are two adults in our house and three computers. We have 3 game systems currently hooked up to the TV, and I'm a total DVR junkie.
Anyway, after a little research and advice from my very informed sister, I've decided that I want a DSLR. More specifically, the Nikon D40. That's the camera that my sister has, and it takes beautiful photos. I'm sure part of the awesomeness of those photos can be attributed to the user, but a good tool makes a huge difference in the outcome. (Example: Pampered Chef forged cutlery. Love them, but that's another blog for another day.)
So if you would like to contribute to the buy-Kate-a-new-camera fund, please let me know. I will be happy to send you the address where you can mail your donations! (Unfortunately, they will not be tax deductible.)
Peace out.
