October News Update

So this weekend I was reminded of the fact that my personal website is in serious need of an update. I think the last update was in June or something like that. We mainly just keep the website for photo sharing and blog posting, so since our camera broke and I got a new blog, the website is just there. But I have some good news, my friends. I GOT A NEW CAMERA! Well, I ordered a new camera. Amazon is shipping it out today.

I'm totally psyched about it, though. We've been comparing prices and saving up since our camera died in August. (Well, that's when we noticed that it was dead. Who knows when it actually bit the dust.) So hopefully soon I will once again update my website with incredible photos of my adorable baby girl - shot with my new Nikon D40. Yes, it is the same camera that my sister has. Before you go calling me a copy-cat, consider this: my sister researches everything. If she chose this camera for herself, then it is obviously the best camera in its price range. Also, Ryan from church has a Nikon D60, which he recommends. Since I don't have the clams for that one, I'll stick with the cheaper Nikon model.

In other news... Skizz is getting a little more gutsy with her stunts. Yesterday I found her planning her escape from her crib. She had piled up blankets and stuffed animals in an effort to climb out of the crib. After her "nap" I decided to prepare lunch for her. I set her in her high chair and grabbed her little meal to heat up. While I was preparing to microwave her gerber meal, I looked over at her, and she was standing in her high chair, waving her arms in excitement the way she does when she's jamming to her favorite tunes (Isty Bitsy Spider and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star). So the seat belt will now ALWAYS be fastened when Skye is sitting in her high chair. (Last night she tried to escape even with the seat belt fastened.)

Also yesterday, whilst Momma tried to nap away her headache, Skye decided to climb onto the couch in hopes of pulling down some frames from the wall. She also climbed on top of my one basket and stood on the wooden lid. Then she got into our new entertainment unit and knocked down one of the glass shelves. I awoke to "Skye, NOOOOOO!" Needless to say, it wasn't a pleasant way to awake from my slumber.

Soon I will be able to share photos of these wonderful new milestones that Skye is reaching. It's still hard to believe that only a year ago I was enjoying the last few days of my maternity leave. *sigh* Back when Skye would nap for several hours a day and was perfectly content to lay in my arms... That reminds me. I need to figure out how to childproof my electric baseboard heater. Any suggestions?

Hey Kate- doesn't Ikea have something that goes around a baseboard heater? I could swear I saw something like that when I was there...but, I was there early in pregnancy and still nauseas and very pregnant-brained, so be wary...

Maybe Skye will grow up to be a stuntwoman...
